A Little Picture Update

Here are some ultrasound pictures that I FINALLY got scanned. It's crazy and amazing that this little being could go from this.......(9 1/2 weeks)

to this............... (this is a head and chest profile shot at 21 1/2 weeks))
They did a sample of the 4-d, but unfortunately, all during this time, she kept hiding her face. She kept either putting her hand in the way or turning her head so we couldn't see her face.

Right when she put the ultrasound device on my stomach, she was doing a stretch, and I thought it was pretty cute. :)
This is the outfit that we bought the day we found out that we were having a girl. There were some cuter ones, but this was on clearance.

And this is yet another picture of me. I was trying to wear the same clothes so I can get a real feeling of how big I'm getting, but these pants are getting a little tight! If you can't tell, it's squishing in my belly a bit. I think I'm going to have to break down and get some maternity pants soon. I didn't realize I could get this much bigger in just a few weeks! Man! i hate buying clothes that I'm going to wear for only a few months, but I'll probably have more that 1 kid, so I guess I'll use it more than once.
There's a little update for now! Hopefully I'll do a bit better at taking more interesting pictures. All I know is that I am excited for Thanksgiving! I love Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful holiday!

Blendings and Blessings

Thursday was a day full of a lot of free food. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. During the day, the school system had an exhibition of student work, so there was food for the judges. There were left over sandwiches/chips/cookies/fruit, so I got some of that. Then some parents came to bring in pizza and cupcakes. Then later, my school had this reading activity and there were hotdogs, chips, and s'mores for everyone. There were A LOT of leftovers, so we ate a hotdog and then brought a whole bunch home. Then later, there was this nice dinner for Wendell's school. They started with appetizers, which could've been a meal by itself. There was yummy fruit, cheese and crackers, chicken and beef on sticks, vegetables with dip, and salad on the tables. Then they had a salmon and steak dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I don't like seafood, and our friend sitting next to me didn't want her steak, so we switched. I ate 2 steaks, and she had 2 salmon. Pretty good deal for us! Then there was cake at the end. I only ate half of it though. Yeah....do you think a pregnant woman with a baby making her stomach smaller can fit all that into her stomach? Well, it could for a little while, but then in the middle of the night, I woke up feeling HORRIBLE. I don't throw up very easily, but in the morning, I went to the bathroom and threw up. My whole stomach and abdomen region was in so much pain. I really didn't think that it could be good for the baby, and there's not much I could take for it, so I woke up Wendell and asked him to give me a priesthood blessing. Usually when I get a blessing, it's good and tells me I'll heal, but it usually takes a while and eventually I do heal, but not as quickly as I would want. But this time, literally minutes after he gave me the blessing, it all just went away and I fell right to sleep. When I woke up, I went to school. I still couldn't eat anything I wanted to, but I felt tons better. It's so nice and I'm so grateful to have a worthy priesthood holder in the home that can bless us and help when we need it. It brings the gospel and the Lord so much closer to us.

Next, we got an "emulsifier"...which is pretty much a heavy duty blender. And I love it!!!! It's Montel's Health Master. We've only had it about a week and I've already made smoothies and blended up stuff for soup and all sorts of stuff. I've heard some reviews that it stopped working sooner, so hopefully that won't happen to us. So with this, you don't really have to chop anything! You have to core the apples and peal citrus stuff, but other than that, you just plop the whole thing in! So this is a totally healthy smoothie:

Here I put in ice, an orange, an apple, some frozen strawberries, and 1/4 grapefruit.
Then I added some plain homemade yogurt......and blend.....
Ta Da!!!! A delicious, completely healthy smoothie! I love this thing! And I didn't have to chop at all! My sisters used to call me the smoothie queen b/c I would make yummy smoothies, and we haven't had a blender at all, so now I can get my fruit intake for the day (or at least 1/2 of it) in a scrumptious smoothie without any added sugar! Oh the joys of blending!

It's a...............................

GIRL!!! We are having a baby girl in March. We are so excited! We went to Target and got a cute little outfit to celebrate. Wendell and I were having a little friendly "competition" if you want to call it. (not really, but ya know...) My side of the family is dominated by girls and his side of the family has all boys as the first child (except for 1), we were seeing whose genes were stronger. (We know it's not based on that, but ya know) and I guess the Webster side wins! haha! :D My sister is pregnant also and she is due only a month before me. She is also having a girl, so there'll be 2 girl cousins together to be friends! How cute. I'll post pictures when I can get them scanned and everything. Oh! And we had this really cheap insurance that had a really high deductible and that we really had only in case of emergencies. Well, when we found out I was pregnant, we also found out that our insurance did not cover maternity. Oops...yeah. Didn't look at that one close enough. But luckily, we were still able to sign up for my school's insurance, which covers 100% after a copay, so we'll have to pay barely anything! Booyah!!! Yes, the insurance is a lot more per month, but we figured we'll save at least 3000-4000 with this insurance. This is a pretty good deal if you ask me! We're excited to have our little girl (especially now that we know it's going to be cheaper:D)! Seeing her on the ultrasound just makes it so much more real and then feeling her move around inside me. The last ultrasound I saw, it was just a tiny little thing that wiggled and jiggled and tickled inside me (tehehe) but now it's a real baby that's almost 1 pound (15 ounces to be exact). I'm already feeling huge, I'm a little scared at how huge I really will get! But I am really excited to meet our little girl and be able to start being parents!

Happy November!

Happy November! I think it's amazing that as soon as Halloween is over, you start seeing Christmas commercials! What ever happened to Thanksgiving? I really do love Thanksgiving. There's no commercialism, you spend time with your family eating delicious food and getting fat, and having a good time. Anyway, we had a good time on Halloween. Someone in our ward had a little get together. No one except the kids dressed up, but we dressed up! Halloween only comes once a year. We just found something really quick that we already had. And I needed something that I could fit into.

Next, one of the best things about fall/winter is that grapefruit is in season! This week was the first time Aldi had grapefruit again and I was SOOOOO excited! Grapefruit is one of my favorite things ever (probably a taste I got from my dad). Grapefruit was always the food my dad had, and I would always eat it too. I've loved it ever since I was little. I don't want any sugar or anything on it. Just give me a straight grapefruit and I am in heaven.

Another thing I got from my dad is how we eat a grapefruit (except a little different). I take a towel and a knife, then peel it and enjoy every delicious bite. Unfortunately, both my dad and I sometimes forget to throw the peels away. Then our spouses (my mom and Wendell) go to put the towel away, and grapefruit peels go everywhere. Oops! It is kinda funny though. We find out what gender the baby is next Tuesday! I'm pretty excited to find out so that I can start picturing things and buying things. I keep getting random things in the mail about baby stuff, which makes me excited. If any of you find good deals on baby stuff (especially diapers and wipes), I am definitely willing to hear them!

Half Way

So we decided to transfer the baby to Wendell. Actually, I got one of those band things, and Wendell decided to try it on. tehehe. Today I am offcially 20 weeks and officially half way through my pregnancy! That is so crazy to me. In only 20 weeks, we are going to be parents! AHHH!!!! I'm really excited though. I officially can't fit into most of my pants, so I had to get one of those bands so that I can still wear my pants. I want to put off buying maternity clothes as long as humanly possible. I got some long/stretchy shirts that weren't maternity and they were only $4.00 each ! Sweet! I love Target! Anyway, one of the big reasons I'm excited is so that I can stay home and teach my own child instead of other people's children! Teaching has been really rough lately and extremely stressful. I had a breakdown the other day, and the main things that is carrying me through is that I will be ending the year in March. I stayed home on Monday because I was sick. Even though I was feeling horrible, I was definitely thinking that it was nice to be home. I know it'll be different when I have a little one to take care of, but it'll still be nice. I have also started to feel the baby. It feels like my stomach is twitching, so it's kinda a weird feeling. We will find out the gender of the baby on Nov. 10 (about 1 1/2 weeks). Any guesses???
This is us at a birthday party of someone in our ward. The yard was amazing! They had 15 acres. They had several fire pits, a cement area for gatherings, they had a TON of land with paths for 4-wheelers and things like that (Wendell's dream). It was fun and I would love to have land like that. But I would need to be at least 15 minutes from a town.
We saw that at the grocery store, there was a bag of caramels for only 95 cents, so we bought some and made caramel apples. I decided that green apples with caramel is one of the most delicious things. You have the sourness of the apple and the sweetness of the caramel to make a perfect pair. Yummmm...

And here are some pictures of my 2 pairs of glasses (for only $60 for frames and lenses for both!) They look more different in real life.
Next, I love Halloween. Unfortunately, this year, I haven't really done much decorating, and in school, they didn't even let anybody dress up or anything. I feel like this year, Halloween hasn't really been too existent. There is always next year. I always loved Halloween probably because it was my dad's favorite holiday. He always went all out. Every year, he added something else. Our house seriously looked like a haunted house, and I loved it! I swear the neighborhood thought we were atheist because we never decorated for Christmas. (We did inside, but not outside). I "inherited" all of my dad's Halloween decorations, which I am SO excited for! He put a lot of effort into all his stuff, so I'm pretty excited to get it all. Maybe I can continue the legacy. The first year my dad started his Halloween escapades, he put huge speakers out of the upstairs window and blasted scary music. You could hear it all the way up the street! After that year, he did it a little quieter, but it was still awesome. One year, he hooked up a pulley with weights with a ghost attached to the other side. When someone would come, he would drop it and the ghost would fly up into the tree. He would always say that his goal was to make one of those "punk teenagers pee their pants". I love Halloween and I love the holidays! Happy Halloween!

We're Baaaack

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted on here. But it's not because I haven't been thinking about it! From my previous post, you know that our laptop cord stopped working. So I called my computer-savvy bro-in-law to ask him what I should do. He found us a great deal on a new cord. We waited a little while because our desktop was still working just fine (but it doesn't download pictures very well, hence my no pictures on the blog and no posts). Then all of a sudden, our desktop went WACKO and everything was huge and it wouldn't let us get on the internet and it kept kicking us off, so then we decided to get the cord, and now we have our beloved laptop back. So now I have A LOT of catching up to do. Here we go...it'll probably be a long one.

First of all, a little while ago, our apartment was INFESTED with fruit flies. Can I just tell you how disgusting that is??? I looked up online how to get rid of them, and I tried a couple different methods. Method 1: put a piece of fruit in a jar/container, put plastic wrap on the top, then poke holes in it. "Supposedly" they'll be able to get in and not get out and then they'll die.

Yeah, they go in, but they can get out again. That didn't work so well.

Method 2 (I didn't take a picture of these last methods). Do the same thing, but in a plastic bag and just leave a little opening. I killed maybe 2? I had more than 2 flies.
Method 3: Put a piece of fruit in the oven, leave the door open overnight, then in the morning, close the door and cook all the flies. Then scrub out your oven. Well, I really didn't want to scrub my oven b/c that would be a pain in the butt, so I decided to try it with the microwave. Tried just a piece of apple first...didn't work. Tried a bowl with some watermelon juice....didn't work. Then I put the jar that I used in the above pictures in the microwave and tried it....in the morning, lots of flies in the jar! Yay! I quickly closed the door and nuked those stinkin' flies. Luckily they were all in the jar, so I didn't even have to scrub my microwave of fly guts! So now we are basically fly free. We'll see one here or there, but there isn't a colony of fruit flies over taking our apartment and kitchen. Halelujah!

On Labor Day weekend, we went to the Delta Festival to see some country singer (Jason Michael Carroll, but we didn't really know him that well). Here are some pictures of the festivities:

This is us toward the end of our night.

I just had to have my cotton candy!!!

We also saw the country singer Jason Michael Carroll while we were there. I guess he's pretty famous. We didn't know him that well, but he had some good music. It was fun. We also went to the petting zoo. All the goats would stick their heads out and it really quite freaked me out. There were even some big goats that would put their heads through the wire things. I just wondered, how on earth will they get out?? And then I saw one do it. All I know is that when food is involved, a goat can do anything.
This one started chewing on Wendell's shorts. haha.

Have you ever seen Veggie Tales? And if you have, have you heard the song "Cebu"? Well, there was one at the zoo!!! I was like, NO WAY! So I had to take a picture. For those of you who don't know (like I didn't) this is a cebu!
One Sunday, it was BEAUTIFUL out, so we decided to have a picnic! We made food and went to the park. As you can see, Wendell is enjoying his food.

I made some homemade rolls, chicken salad, cut up watermelon, jello with fruit, carrots, and some pink lemonade! Yum!
We took this picture because we thought it was really ironic. As many of you know, before I found out I was pregnant, I was working really hard to lose weight. I successfully lost 32 pounds. I still wasn't where I wanted to be, so my sister told me over and over that I needed to try Chalean Extreme. So I finally buckled down and ordered it. I did one workout, then a few days later, I found out I was pregnant. How's that for ya? So this is me at about 11 or 12 weeks.

This is me with a side view. I'm showing a little bit with tight clothes, but with regular clothes, you really couldn't tell at all. I need to take another picture though because I'm definitely getting bigger. I'm at 18 weeks now. Almost 1/2 way!Every year, Wendell's school has this optifest where you can go and get really cheap frames. Last year, I went and ordered some because the last frames I got were when I was a senior in high school. They have fallen apart and I've had to super glue them back together. Well, last year, I finally found a pair that I liked and then they never came!!! I was so sad. So this year, we went up to the same people and I told him that my other ones never came, so he gave me one pair free and so I got 2 pairs of glasses! Yay! I got 2 pairs of glasses with lenses in them for $60! I decided to have one pair of glasses with polycarbonate lenses and the other pair with the other material to see which one is better. So yeah! Here's a picture with me with one of the pairs, and I'll have to take another picture with my other pair soon. We made homemade pizza with whole wheat crust, so that's what I have in my hand.
And last but not least..............................
Don't forget to smile today! (we were making eggs and they ended up like this. I didn't even do it on purpose!)

Sad Day

The other day/week, I don't know which, our laptop started having some issues charging. We would just wiggle the cord, then it would charge again. Unfortunately, that didn't last too long. Just the other day, it stopped charging altogether. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't know how to use a laptop that's dead. So I went to Best Buy yesterday to look for a new cord. Wanna know how much it cost??? $90!!!!!!!! Yeah, I'm not paying that much for a cord. Luckily we still have a desktop that we can use, but the keyboard was stupid and didn't work all the time. So instead, I got a $20 keyboard we could use with our desktop. We want to look around for a cheaper cord, maybe on ebay or something. We don't know. But I really don't want to pay $90 for a stinkin cord. But we did do some exciting things over the Labor Day weekend....but that requires me getting my pictures off of my camera and onto the desktop. I don't like putting pictures on this computer as much because it takes longer....but I'll do it sometime this week. Just not now. I know, I've been boring lately, but I will write an interesting post soon. I promise! Oh....there is one eventful thing. There is a chance that I'll get surplussed from my school. There weren' enough students enrolled, so we have to lose a teacher. Seeing as I'm at the bottom of the totem pole, if no one volunteers, then that person would be me. Well, whatever happens happens and we'll deal with it.
